Henry Brandt painted seven of the earliest paintings at Lane Tech. These were created around 1913. Brandt was born in Germay in 1862 and studied with his father, then at the Royal Academy in Berlin. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1882 and worked primarily as a scenery (set?) painter in Moline Illinois, then moved to Chicago in the 1920s.
